The Last Post Well, after four or so years I'm announcing that this is it for the Yorkshire Soul blog. It has been a fun time and I appreciate all the input and comments, but life changes and as me and Mrs YS move to our new job next week I'm going to stop the blog now. You all know that I have a number of interests outside my work and writing, a love of Yorkshire and walking being amongst the most important of these. I have managed to find a job, well another business really, that is going to combine those latter two elements. We have invested in a Lama farm at Scaife in Updale, it's going to be a huge change in life but we're really looking forward to it. Lama are quite hardy beasts, ideally suited to the Yorkshire uplands, we will have a little lowland grazing by the river but the beasts will require regular trips up to the moorland pasture. It is a beautiful part of God's Own County, a bit out of the way to be sure, but the views alone should make it worthwhile. There is enough space on the farm for us to be able to develope it a bit, we hope to have a small cafe / gift shop and for the children we'll have a petting area, Lama are quite docile and easily rideable so we'll do Lama rides when conditions permit. We'll be farming them mostly for their wool of course, but being the adventurous diner that I am, I'm sure any spare ones will soon be available as steaks / sausages etc. I'll still make it onto my MySpazz / Facebook and I'm keeping my g-mail account so you can keep in touch me if you wish, thanks again, Yorkshiresoul.
