You will find that cyclists will thank you and compliment you for this kind and caring action, and will certainly never ever make rude hand gestures, swear or spit at you. Cyclists, please remember when you're out pottering about on country lanes, that some of us live and work out here and we'd rather not spend the next hour travelling at crawling speeds behind you because you're too bloody rude and ill mannered to allow other road users to come past.
