Hosepipe Ban May Be Lifted I hadn't realised that the South of England had received so little rain, here in Yorkshire we've had absolutely loads of it, at Ilkley Golf Club we have lost 12 of the last 30 days to flooding. Down South though, water companies are reporting that many reservoirs have not yet reached 90% full, but that when they do get close to this amount the hosepipe ban will be lifted. If any Southerners would like some spare water, we have loads. The fast rising Wharfe came up very rapidly on Tuesday and brike its banks flooding large sections of the golf course. By Wednesday afternoon the river's level had dropped by a good few feet, but we had large lakes along the 16th & 17th & 18th which took a couple of days to drain away. Thankfully it has remained somewhat dryer since then and we are open again today, no more floods please - nobody comes when the course is closed.
